Project Management is Just Too Hard

My theory is that today, project management is getting too theoretical

We’re getting lost in a maze of processes and we’re losing direction.

Inexperienced project team members lose interest in project management because they’re unable to understand why there is a need for 47 processes, 5 process groups and 10 knowledge areas.

Experienced project managers lose time and money because they think they need to comply with the latest theoretical fad.

The 5th edition of the mighty Project Management Institute’s PmBok ® is released and we see article after blog post analysing the change in wordage

Comparing “facilitation technique” and “meeting”

“Change Register” and “Change Log”

Give me strength! There is no difference in the real world.

All practical project managers know that!
